The people of Kedah are increasingly disillusioned with how PAS run the state and can no longer tolerate being neglected, Kedah Umno liaison committee chairperson Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said.

"People can no longer stand this, they are being neglected and the state government has not kept its promise to serve the people," he told reporters after handing over aid from the Welfare Department to 60 recipients in Alor Setar today.

He was commenting on a Bernama report yesterday on the complains by about 10,000 fruit farm owners in Padang Terap who claimed that the state government had failed to keep its promise to collect their fruits to be processed at the Agriculture Product Collection Centre in Sungai Petani.

Ahmad Bashah said: "If BN made such a promise, we will definitely fulfil it."

Meanwhile, Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak said the orchard owners should discuss with the centre's management or the fruit canning centre in Sungai Petani to address the glut of local fruits.

"I've told them to discuss with these centres for the benefit of both sides.

"They should not be worried over a possible glut next year because the two centres need fruit supply throughout the season," he said when commenting on the issue.
