Jailing Anwar will not end BN's problem
'Anwar will be found guilty no matter what. We all know that, but interesting repercussions will then take shape in the political landscape.'
Wikileaks: Anwar may be convicted 'at all cost'
Karma: It is commonly heard around the world that the Umno government can do virtually anything to ensure desired judicial outcomes.
It insults not just the judiciary of our country but also the sitting judge or judges. It is so shameful to be queried time and time again in other countries about our government controlling the monarchy, judiciary, police, MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), Election Commission and the Attorney-General's Chambers so they can be remained in power.
Those who mistakenly touched on Islamic issue will be persecuted, even after apologising. Whereas anyone with a clear intention to insult other religions is okay and always gets away with it.
Kit P: Of course, Anwar Ibrahim will be convicted and jailed for Sodomy II. I have zero expectation of any other outcome, though there may be a few detours along the way for "wayang" (sideshow) purposes.
Never mind the pristine DNA 56 hours after being extracted from the complainant's super-clean anus.
Clever Voter: DSAI (Anwar) will be found guilty no matter what. We all know that, but interesting repercussions will then take shape in the political landscape.
Umno together with the rest will be dumped, and in its place a new political system. New leaders will emerge - ones who deliver what the country deserves and was deprived of by the political crooks for a very long time.
Anonymous_40dc: It is obvious that Umno-BN want Anwar behind bars regardless of evidence or public opinion because it views Anwar as a threat to them remaining in power.
With power, they can continue to plunder the country. Umno, which claim to champion Islam, does not practice Islam. Their sloganeering is empty rhetoric.
Anonymous_4031: Jailing Anwar will not stop the emergence of greater discontent among the people.
Did the imprisonment of Nelson Mandela in South Africa stop the overthrow of the white regime? No. But it took 28 years. It will not take that long here in Malaysia.
Look at Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, Bahrain and Yemen. Dictators have been overthrown by the people. Even Burma is loosening up with the president having a meeting with democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi last month.
Cocomomo: PM Najib Razak, wife Rosmah Mansor and Umno must realise that Anwar going to prison will result in Pakatan Rakyat performing better than 2008, possibly even putting Pakatan in Putrajaya even if Anwar is able to be PM.
Lakia: Let Umno and the PM still think the rakyat are stupid fools. It's Umno and Najib who are really desperate now, not Anwar or Pakatan.
That's why they use the media, especially TV3 and Utusan Malaysia , to create and spread lies about Anwar, DAP and Mat Sabu, and the Christians almost every week.
Anonymous_5fb: The way I look at this is that Umno always think that they have the right to do whatever they like, whether moral or immoral, legal or illegal, and reserve all rights to decide whether a person should be charged or not, and if charged, what kind of verdict they should be.
The recent outburst by Dr Mohd Khir Toyo is one classic example of this. Perhaps this is the price they are going to pay.
Onyourtoes: The US ambassador did not know what he is talking about. If they want a charge levelled against Anwar, they can always manufacture one.
If they want to get the evidence, they can always find one. If they want a conviction, they can always influence one.
Kgen: It is certainly the first option being pursued now - convict Anwar at all cost. There is no chance of acquittal no matter how weak the prosecution's fabricated evidence.
Rosmah at Altantuya murder 'implausible'
Lakia: It's very simple to find out who gave the order to Immigration Department to delete the record of the arrival/entry of Altantuya Shaariibuu into Malaysia.
Just ask the MACC to interrogate the officer who deleted the record and he/she will reveal all. As to who directed the two bodyguards of Najib to kill and blow up the body of Altantuya, get the MACC to interrogate them too. Surely, they will also reveal everything.
Its so simple but the police, the MACC and the AG do not want to find out who issued the said directives even though it involves the commission of a grave criminal offence - murder.
They are hoping that Malaysians will have short memory and will soon forget it. They are right. We Malaysians keep voting for the BN in every election.
Alan Goh: Too many ‘if' and ‘why' questions exist in the minds of Malaysians, such as why was the immigration entry records deleted and who carries such weight to give instructions to have them deleted.
Why did Najib take such an interest in the late Altantuya case by calling up then inspector-general of police Musa Hassan, followed by SMS to Abdul Razak Baginda? The SD (statutory declaration) by Abdul Razak's private investigator, P Balasubraniam, was also not taken into account.
After the cold-blooded murder of Altantuya, why the need to blow up her body with C4, a controlled security item, and why whenever the name of Najib is brought up in court, both prosecutors and defence lawyers jump up to object.
Finally, why after the long criminal trial, no one has seen the face of the two killers.
1M: Unless there is a change of government, the Altantuya case will remain a mystery because Umno will never allow any investigation to be carried out for an obvious reason.
