Motorcyclists continued to top the list of fatalities as the 13th day of Ops Sikap recorded 26 deaths, raising the overall number of deaths to 254 since the operation started on Aug 23.

Bukit Aman police on its website today reported that from the 26 who died in 22 road accidents yesterday, 15 were motorcyclists, eight (car), pedestrians (two) and other vehicles (one).

According to the website, 1,144 accidents were reported yesterday with 379 on town roads, federal roads (371), state roads (229), highways (99) and other roads (66).

The police had also issued 7,591 summonses to offenders during the operation yesterday.

The 24th Ops Sikap which started on Aug 23 will end tomorrow (Sept 6).
