KeADILan Youth chief Mohamed Ezam Mohd Noor was arrested under the Section 8 (1) of the Official Secrets Act. He will be charged in the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court tomorrow. Lawyer R. Sivarasa told malaysiakini tonight that Ezam was accused of distributing government documents which provided evidence of corruption of two Umno politicians, International Trade and Industry Minister Rafidah Aziz and former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik, at a function on Nov 6. Ezam was arrested when he sought to lodge a report at the Dang Wangi police station this afternoon. The police report was against Malay-language newspaper Utusan Malaysia , which reported today that he "went missing" after being served an arrest warrant.
