A total of 126 cases of dengue fever with no death were reported from Aug 28 to Sept 3, the Health Ministry said today.
Health director-general Dr Hasan Abdul Rahman said this was a drop of 176 cases from 302 the previous week.
He said the decline recorded was likely influenced by the festive holidays when people did not go for treatment when suffering from fever.
However, cases reported in Sabah increased by one, Dr Hasan said in a statement.
He reminded people not to neglect the cleanliness of their surrounding areas although the number of cases had dropped.
According to him, 47 dengue-prone localities were identified last week compared to 63 the week before.
