Employers are allowed to send applications to bring foreign workers into the country to serve various sectors except domestic maid.
Home Ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Mahmood Adam said the applications submitted be processed after completion of second phase of 6P programme (bleaching), he told a seminar for 6P management companies in Putrajaya yesterday.
Earlier, Home Minister Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the actual date of ‘bleaching’ would be determined after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Foreign Workers and Illegal Immigrants chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on Oct 3.
Mahmood said the briefing for 336 management companies was important so that they understand the ‘bleaching’ process and give feedback for improvement.
"This is the most difficult part (6P). We discussed to legalise it as there are measures to be taken by employers and managers," he said.
He urged processing management companies to produce complete documents requested from employers and illegals registered under the same management company, registered representatives, check employer interview dates and arrange payment of levy.
The companies were also reminded not to impose additional charges exceeding RM300 as determined to avoid action being taken against them.
