The Malaysia Islamic Development Department (Jakim) will cooperate with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) to monitor and stop the deviant Ajaran Ilmu Hakikat Hassan Jonit, believed being revived in the state.     

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom said Jakim would be monitoring the developments to enable collective action to be taken to prevent the spread of the deviant teachings to other parts of the country.     

"Although the case happens in Selangor and the state's religious authorities are acting on it, Jakim will be cooperating with Jais in this matter," he said when officiating at the district-level Children's Potential Day involving Kemas kindergartens at the Guar Chempedak multipurpose hall today.     

He was responding to media reports on the Ajaran Ilmu Hakikat Hassan Jonit, which was confirmed to have deviated from true Islamic teachings by the Selangor Fatwa Consultative Committee in 1998 but detected being active again.         

It was said being revived by family members of one of Hassan's senior disciples who died some years ago and headed by the latter's son-in-law, with the group's headquarters located in Kampung Melayu Batu Arang, Rawang.     

Jamil Khir said based on initial information received from Jais, two groups were believed to be trying to revive the deviant teachings and Jais was investigating.     

"Actually, several so-called religious teachings have been banned and are on Jais' ban list, and it will be taking action against those trying to revive and spread such deviant teachings," he said.
