Three top judges today took their oaths of office and received their instruments of appointment from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at the Istana Negara.

arifin zakaria 01 Arifin Zakaria ( right ) was sworn in as the Chief Justice to succeed Zaki Azmi who went on mandatory retirement on Sept 9.

Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin was sworn in as the Chief Judge of Malaya, taking over from Arifin, and Md Raus Sharif was sworn in as the President of the Court of Appeal, succeeding Alauddin Mohd Sheriff who has gone on early retirement.

The ceremony, held at the Small Throne Room, was attended by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.
