Dr M is right, don't vote for wrong people
'The people should vote out those who have plundered the nation's wealth and play racial and religious cards to remain in power.'
Better for Najib to call polls 'later', says Dr M
Freemsia: "Dr Mahathir Mohamad warned that the country could face a bleak future if the people vote for wrong people in government."
For once, I agree with him. The way our country is losing its competitiveness and the increasing racial polarisation, and not to mention, the blatant corruption practised by BN, it is indeed time to change the government.
Fillio: Mahathir's 22 years of rule saw how he and his rogues plundered this once a rich nation now edging into bankruptcy.
He manipulated all the governmental institutions to ensure the plundering continued throughout his rule.
Possibly the amount he and his cronies have plundered is comparable to the ‘small' amount shipped out by the British Empire, which Mahathir has eagerly confirmed that the British were invited to assist the Malay rulers.
Thus, it was only in the early 1980s that this nation has been colonised - by none other than Mahathir and his cronies.
Swen: The wrong leaders are those who pursue their own interests, have close tenders of huge civil contracts so that they can filter funds and money for themselves and for their cronies, abuse their power through enforcement agencies and manipulate facts and suppress news to gain popularity for their party and government.
All these tactics are well-known by all wise voters. They cannot cheat us anymore. TDM (Tun Dr Mahathir) is outdated.
Onyourtoes: If you want to know whether or not we are a third country - just look at the way the pressmen interviewed this "great statesman" - ever submissive and showing deference as if he is a demigod.
What profound questions can you expect from a group of bootlickers, and what discerning answers can you get from someone who has nothing other than his own parochial and jaundice views.
Mahathir obviously chooses not to know his own baloney. For 50 years, the success of this country is not because of you (Mahathir) or Umno.
On the contrary, the success is despite of your baloney, plundering and abuse of power. It is the enterprise, the hard work, the ingenuity and the sacrifice of the people that made the success of this country.
You just spent and squandered, so please don't talk big here. This country could have achieved 10 folds what we have achieved so far if the government had been prudent, frugal, honest and accountable.
Of course, Najib - just like you during your time - has the right to decide who shall be the candidates for next general election. I just hope that he is smart enough to drop your son as the candidate and to shut you up forever.
Lets Be Fair: Mahathir's recommendation to delay GM13 further is further proof that BN is at its lowest ebb. Buying time to salvage the cronies?
David Dass: This has become a mantra for Mahathir - 'In a multiracial country people cannot get 100 percent of what they want.'
What does it mean? The people want honest, open, transparent government? Does that depend on us being homogeneous?
The people want truth, justice and fairness? Does that depend on us being homogeneous?
The people want adherence to the rule of law and an end to arbitrary arrest and detention without trial? Does that depend on us being homogeneous?
And the people want freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and a free press? Do these wants require us to be homogeneous?
The people want the civil service, the police force and the armed forces to be efficient and reflective of the people of Malaysia? That is a requirement of a multiracial population.
And finally the people of Malaysia actually believe that we can be diverse and still be united and integrated, living peacefully side by side with each other. What is not possible because we are not homogeneous?
Stevencbs: Mahathir was the one who used ISA to detain political dissidents. He is also a patron of Perkasa, which stirs up racist comments and instill hatred among races. He was the one who screwed up the judiciary.
He got himself confused what language is more important and directly messed up the education system and therefore we have leaders like the current DPM still unsure which medium of language to use for science and maths. Now the DPM says passing English is compulsory... what a bunch of jokers.
Let me tell Dr M that Vision 2020 will not be achieved because he was the main plunderer and I really hope he lives till 2020 to see this.
Born Free: Knowing Najib's weaknesses very well, Dr M is scheming to dethrone Najib as what he had done to all his deputies who do not comply to his and his cronies wishes. He has his son, Mukhriz, and Muhyiddin silently waiting to jump queue.
Dr M is right about voting the wrong people to run the country as been proven since 1970 where Malaysians were deceived into voting BN. Malaysia was, and is still being, destroyed by Umno.
FairPlay: Umno is afraid of GE13, very afraid indeed. But the inevitable will come to pass. And with it, hopefully, a new beginning.
Cocomomo: I agree with Mahathir "that the country could face a bleak future if the people vote for wrong people in government".
The people should vote out the corrupted ones who have plundered the nation's wealth and rely on working up racial and religious emotions to remain in power.
