The Film Censorship Board will be reviewing the movie ‘ Hantu Bonceng ’, which PAS Youth claims contains elements that are insulting to Islam.

hantu bonceng the movie The board’s chairman Raja Azhar Raja Abdul Manap told Bernama in Kota Baru today that its members did not come across such elements when evaluating the movie.

“Nevertheless, we will do another review of the movie to see if the scenes complained about by PAS Youth are offensive,” he said.

PAS party organ Harakahdaily today carried a report urging the authorities to withdraw the movie from cinemas because of the alleged inappropriate scenes.

Directed by Ahmad Idham, the 90-minute movie which hit cinemas in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei since Aug 31, is reported to have grossed RM5 million within five days, a record collection for a festive season screening.
