The George Town High Court today postopned hearing of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s defamation suit against Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd to Jan 11.

Judge Nurmala Salim set Jan 11 to 13 as the new hearing dates after Lim gave his testimony from the witness stand today.

Lim had filed the suit following an article published by the company’s daily Utusan Malaysia titled ‘ DEB: Guan Eng Tetap Berdegil ’ (New Economic Policy: Guan Eng Still Stubborn) on March 15, 2008, which he claimed defamed him.

Lim is represented by counsel Jagdeep Singh Deo while Utusan Melayu, which was named as the defendant, by counsel Mohana Kumar.
