S'gor BN to suffer 'torture' of defeat again
'It is indeed a torture when they see that the Selangor government has so much cash now and yet they can't touch it.'
DPM: BN to save S'gor from Pakatan's 'torture'
Adelicia: Selangor under MB Khalid Ibrahim managed to increase its cash reserve and the amount is the highest achieved by the state over the past 28 years.
Johor, a supposedly rich state, and what was the result under Muhyiddin Yassin's management? Had it not because of its closeness to Singapore, the state would have gone bankrupt.
Faz: It is funny to see these Umno-BN bigwigs clamouring to play one-up-manship on each other but ending up worse off.
PM Najib Razak opened up the score by shouting that Putrajaya would be defended at all cost and Selangor must be taken back. Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the grand master of deceit, taught the Umno functionaries the art of lying by asking them not to show off their wealth and concealing their distaste of home-stays.
For the grand finale, Mahyuddin came up with a tall story of 'torture' under Pakatan rule and to ease the ache, RM29 million was given for a new school. But be wary, the project will come along with top-up money in the contract for the Umno divisions and branches, cronies, etc.
Anonymous_3e8f: Muhyiddin, look at the numbers. Most likely, you will not understand. Ask Idris Jala or Nor Mohamed Yakcob to explain.
The Selangor state government has managed to increase its cash reserves by some RM200 million in the first six months of this year, bringing the total to RM1.1 billion.
The amount is the highest achieved by the state over the past 28 years. Since taking over from BN, the state has registered a significant increase in investment amounting to RM35 billion between 2008 and June 2011.
Abil: Those tortured are the Umno contractors who could not get jobs since Umno has never taught them to vie for contracts based on merit.
Umno has always taught them to get freebies for last 50 years, hence they are ‘tortured'. With open tenders being practiced by Pakatan, the Umno contractors are feeling the heat.
Yeoke: I agree it is a torture when they see that the Selangor government has so much cash now and yet they can't touch it.
Danny Lazaroo: Torture? Things have never been better in Selangor. Muhyiddin is basing his view that Pakatan is torturing Selangore because of what one voter told him so?
Give me a break - and some real evidence too. I'm not sure what the hell is going on here - as far as I know, people are quite happy with Pakatan heading Selangor thus far.
If the DPM is so confident, why not call for elections now?
Gerard Samuel Vijayan: The BN in Selangor should first try to save itself from the ‘torture' of impending defeat. The voters are not going to give BN another five years after the last five decades of raping and pillaging the state.
The voters in Selangor are smarter than the Najib and Muhyiddin's Laurel and Hardy act. The BN has been unlawfully depriving the state of federal funds; misusing the media, police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commision (MACC) to attack the Pakatan government and politicians; using the state civil servants and the religious authorities under Mais and Jais to sabotage the state government; and hiding behind the palace to undermine and discredit the Pakatan government.
The people of Selangor are well-informed and aware of all the political chicanery that is going in the state with the tacit consent of the ruler. The BN has been constantly pandering to racial and religious sentiments to incite the people, but so far their pathetic attempts have failed.
The people of Selangor are waiting for GE13 to teach the BN another lesson.
Anonymous_ABG: What torture? Umno can fool the kampong people as they have been doing for the last 50 years - denying them the basics and enriching the cronies.
After Pakatan has taken over Selangor, the lower income people have benefitted financially reducing the cost of the basic needs inspite of the corrupted civil servants subverting the beneficial policies. We never enjoyed that during the Umno rule.
Take the former MB for example, check the 'criminal' expenses incurred by him and his buddies. Take a look at the 'palace' he has built. From where did he get all that money?
He, under the Umno banner, had tortured the poor people. Even the great Dr M has expressed the unjustified waste of money by the Umno members. Indeed, Pakatan has saved us from the Umno torture.
Nik V: Thanks to Khalid and the Selangor Pakatan team, the state is doing well with a lot more accountability. And due to their efforts, it has become a threat to the BN federal government that now, they are spending on a school to win back votes and claiming the financing came from BN and not the taxes of the rakyat.
Now we all know why we need Pakatan in Putrajaya. That way the rakyat's money is the rakyat's money.
Dood: ROTFLOL (rolling on the floor laughing out loud). This has got to be one of the funniest things I've heard from a BN leader in recent times.
'S'gor Pakatan rule a torture only to BN cronies'
Changeagent: No wonder Muhyiddin and the BN backbenchers are crying torture. Under the old Selangor regime, the RM1.1 billion now in the state's cash reserves would have been in their pockets instead.
Kudos to MB Khalid and the Pakatan state government for standing firm against any form of corrupt practices in the face of unrelenting harassment, pressure and persecution by the irremediable BN coalition.
Pemerhati: Muhyiddin and other top Umno leaders constantly run down the opposition by telling all sorts of lies and then broadcast and print these lies constantly through their completely monopolised media.
Other evil regimes in the past, such as the Nazis too used this strategy. These Umno liars and thieves are hoping that if they keep on constantly throwing mud at the opposition, some of it will stick and influence the voters into voting for BN.
Once they are back in power they can then get down to their main activity, which is to siphon off at least 30 percent of the money from the projects as revealed in Wikileaks recently.
It is good to see that political secretary to the Selangor Menteri Besar Faekah Husin has promptly replied to Muhyiddin's attack but the most important thing for her and Pakatan is to make sure that their message reaches all the voters.
Black Mamba: I absolutely agreed with Faekah - only BN rent-seekers and cronies are suffering in agony.
Those who were tortured by the BN administration of Selangor are today hefting a sigh of relief. For example, the Klang flyover to the second bridge was a real torture to the residents with its long delay that resulted in massive jams daily during the time of the former MB and it takes Pakatan with some great resolve to complete it at the soonest possible time.
With free water which amount to nothing much to the rich is a great saving to those who are today fighting inflationary prices, no thanks to BN federal administration. Kudos to Pakatan and we shall vote them into Putrajaya.
Kgen: Despite the free water scheme which cost the state government about RM4 million a month, the state reserves are at an all-time high.
Geronimo: I don't know about you guys, but whenever I see this lady, she just simply makes my day. Faekah is indeed a true lady of substance.
