A freight train derailed between KmM596.75 and Km597 at the Genuang station, Johor this morning, disrupting the KTM Intercity services in the south sector.
A freight train derailed between KmM596.75 and Km597 at the Genuang station, Johor this morning, disrupting the KTM Intercity services in the south sector.
Repair works are expected to be completed at midnight, said Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) in a statement.
It said a freight train carrying cement from Padang Rengas, Perak to Pasir Gudang, Johor derailed at the Genuang station at about 11.50am.
No casualties were reported.
All passenger trains to the southern region were expected to encounter delays of two hours or more.
The affected services are Train 1: Ekspres Rakyat (Butterworth-Woodlands), Train 12: Ekspres Sinaran Selatan (Woodlands-Kuala Lumpur); Train 13 Ekspres Sinaran Selatan (Kuala Lumpur-Woodlands); Train 15: Ekspres Sinaran Timuran (Tumpat-Woodlands); Train 26: Ekspres Senandung Timuran (Woodlands-Tumpat); Train 27: Ekspres Senandung Timuran (Tumpat-Woodlands); and Shuttle Train 64: (Woodlands-Gemas).
Passengers may ask for refund of full fares for services cancelled or reschedule their journeys, said the statement.
