The three Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers alleged to have robbed a moneychanger at the KL International Airport (KLIA) on Sept 15 have been released on police bail until Tuesday.

Sources confirmed the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s office has not received the investigation papers from the police.

Hence, this led to their release. It is learnt the three had been remanded since Sept 15.

Media personnel had been waiting at the Sepang court in Bandar Salak Tinggi since this morning, expecting them to be charged.

The trio were said to have been suspended, then transferred to the commission's administrative division following the arrest.

The three officers - aged between 20 and 25 - were holding the ranks of acting assistant commissioner (Grade P48), senior assistant superintendent Grade P32) and assistant superintendent (Grade P29).

The trio were arrested for allegedly robbing a moneychanger of US$300,000 (RM945,000) inside the satellite building at the KLIA in Sepang.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (management and professionalism) Zakaria Jaffar said the MACC was also conducting internal investigations into the case to determine whether there were any serious breaches of procedures, and if there were any, stern action would be taken against those involved.
