The prime minister arrived at about 10am at surau As-Saadah in Taman Keramat Permai where the body lay and was received by inspector general of police Ismail Omar.
Ibrahim had complained of difficulty in breathing and brought to the Kuala Lumpur hospital at 6.40am and died at 7.30am.
He was outrider for Dr Mahathir Mohamad until his retirement as prime minister.
Ibrahim returned to the traffic division in Pudu and joined Najib's motorcade in 2009.
He leaves a wife Fakhriah Abdul Raof, 41, and three children aged 14 to 19.
His body was brought back to his Sungai Kota Kampung in Parit Buntar, Perak for burial.
Fakhriah told reporters that her husband, who was on one-week leave, had been admitted to hospital for a day because of suspected swollen heart.
