Dieticians will be stationed at selected Giant hypermarkets under the Healthy Eating Promotion programme to guide customers on healthy diets.

Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai said in a statement released in Putrajaya today that under the programme, customers would be taken on a tour of the rice, fruits, vegetables, milk and cooking oil sections to be briefed on healthy eating.

Besides this, Liow said, customers would also taught to compare labels of similar food items so as to make smarter choices.

He said the programme, which would involve 120 Giant outlets in the country, would be launched at the Giant hypermarket in Shah Alam on Saturday.

The programme would later be expanded to the Jusco and Mydin hypermarket chains.
