PBDS expects ROS to respond after fasting month

Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) president Daniel Tajem said today he expected a response to the party's reply on the Registrar of Societies(ROS) Dahari Ibrahim's query after the fasting month.

Tajem told

that the ROS however gave no indication when a party delegation met him and three other officials in Putrajaya on November 4 to personally hand in the reply.
The ROS had asked the party to explain the presence of delegates from 29 out of 147 branches who attended the party's triennial delegates conference (TDC) in Santubong on July 26-27.
Tajem said the ROS told the PBDS delegation that he would study the detailed reply to the query.
The ROS was also briefed on
the contents of the three volumes of reply.
Present at the 30-minute meeting were PBDS deputy president Joseph Salang, vice presidents Jawah Gerang and Peter Runin, secretary-general Stanley Ajang
and treasurer-general Anthony Liman.
No chance
Meanwhile, Mong Dagang, one of the party members aligned to the rival faction led by state minister Dr James Masing, was quoted by the
Borneo Post
today as ruling out any hope of reconciliation between the two factions.
Mong, the Bukit Bagunan state assebmlyperson, said this would not happen whatever the ROS' decision on the party eventually.
Responding to this, Joseph Salang told
malaysiakini:
"As long as there is air to breathe one cannot rule out such a possibility, no matter how remote it may seem at the moment."
Anthony Liman was also quoted as saying the priority for the moment was to save the party "but there is another group which also claims to do likewise."
He added that there had been rumours that the other faction had applied to form a new party.
"Sooner or later people will know who is sincere and who is not," he added.
