Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim considers calls for his removal over purported decision-making failures as part and parcel of running of any organisation.

"It’s all right. We will continue our struggle," said Khalid over allegations in a report on new website AntaraPos that he is under pressure from quarters who oppose his leadership.

The portal yesterday alleged that a group of PKR assemblypersons had in May passed a memorandum to the party’s de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim urging for Khalid's dismissal as menteri besar.

The memorandum reportedly complained about Selangor PKR leadership's performance and that it is lagging behind that of Penang DAP.

AntaraPos.com is said to have been founded by a group of journalists and opposition leaders who claim to be pro-Anwar but are critical towards his party.

NONE When met after a ceramah in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, last night, Khalid said the issues had been discussed within PKR and this shows that it is an open party.

"People can discuss, people can support, (or) people can oppose, all these things can happen (in PKR)," he said.

However, he denied that there are calls within the party for his resignation as menteri besar.

He also claimed he has not come across any memorandum allegedly presented during PKR’s congress in May last year.

"I did not see that memorandum. However, I am often in discussions about this issue.

"That is because in any association, there will those who support, and those who oppose. That's normal," he reiterated.

NONE Khalid's political secretary Faekah Husin ( left ) yesterday said the bid for his dismissed as state chief executive is a way for Umno to downplay his rising popularity, which have overpassed the reputation of Umno and other Pakatan Rakyat leaders.

"The blog was handled by the (state subsidiary) Communication Corporation Sdn Bhd (CCSB) former general manager , whose contract was terminated last June, and is being used for this purpose.

"From information we obtained, this web is backed by Umno and it is directed to defend (its president) Najib Abdul Razak, who is facing an open fight from his deputy Muhyiddin Yassin," Faekah said.

CCSB is the company that runs Selangor TV and the monthly state bulletin Selangorkini .
