A clearer directive on the disbursement of the one-off RM500 assistance to households with a monthly income of below RM3,000, as announced in the 2012 Budget, would be discussed in the weekly cabinet meeting next week, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Dr Koh Tsu Koon said today.

NONE The Gerakan president said there had been a lot of queries from the public on the matter and it needed to be solved soon before it became controversial.

"Many people have come forward, asking how to apply for this, what is the definition and what if they have this and that, and how to calculate the income," he said.

Koh was speaking to reporters after officiating the party's Life Member Council conference at the party's headquarters in Menara PGRM today.

He said several related agencies including the Inland Revenue Board and Employees Provident Fund would be invited to attend the cabinet meeting.
