'Don't you think it's hypocritical to criticise your party leader when Gerakan doesn't even have the backbone to stand up against Umno-BN?'

Wanita chief ashamed over 'weak' party leadership

your say Joe Lee: Gerakan Wanita chief Tan Lian Hoe shares one thing common with the rump MCA and Gerakan MPs - those few who survived the 2008 election. That is, she got elected essentially by Malay votes.

The majority of the Chinese would not have voted for her. So what does this tell us? Yes, these people got in thanks to Umno and they are very much in Ummo's pockets. When Umno says jump, and they will ask, how high?

Anonymous_5fb: Tan, why talk about ungratefulness? It is the responsibility of the government to take care of the welfare of rakyat, irrespective of who is the government of the day.

As a senior politician, you seemed to be unaware of this. Shame on you. Let me tell you, the government does not belongs to Umno, BN, Pakatan Rakyat or whatever.

The government is an institution of a democracy. It doesn't belongs to anyone. Period.

Nik V: Tan Lian Hoe needs to realise that the rakyat owe you nothing. Understand that you are elected to serve the needs of the many, not the needs of the few.

Malaysia is not your little private Sendirian Berhad for the benefit of Gerakan-Umno-MCA-MIC.

R Venugopal: Tan Lian Hoe, in a democratic society we are free to vote for any party we feel deem fit. Be thankful that voters gave you the opportunity in Gerik and your comments about voters ‘being ungrateful' is uncalled for.

Gerakan has failed the people and what do you expect the voters to do? And your comments will make things worse. Maybe Gerik too will fall due to your arrogant attitude stating that voters are ungrateful.

The government of the day is obliged to serve the people regardless of race, party or colour.

One moment you are criticising the BN for its greed and infighting and the next moment you are praising PM Najib Razak. You praised Najib so that you will be selected as a candidate for next elections.

But you forget that the problems in BN is not the fault of Gerakan leaders, it's the head of BN.

Dood: Way to go, Lian Hoe. Don't you think it's hypocritical to criticise your party leader when surely you realise that Gerakan as a whole doesn't even have the backbone to stand up to Umno-BN?

And aren't you so clever in condemning the voters as being ‘ungrateful' to BN? Do the voters owe you anything? Who do you think you are?

May I remind you that voters are the boss, and if anything it is you, your party and BN that is ungrateful and arrogant for having had the chance to govern for the people's good but instead failed to protect them.

It is politicians like yourself that make voters despise BN.

Compass: Yes, it's tough to be in a sinking ship with a wimpy captain.

20121221Disaster: Is Tan not a member of the leadership? If she is one, how can she exclude herself from the leadership and blaming the leadership like she is of no concern?

This leader will only share the success, not the difficulties. But for the country's sake, please sacrifice yourselves to avoid helping Umno return to power and allow them to continue to destroy the nation.

Tkc: Tan is basically asking Najib not to give her Gerik seat to Koh Tsu Koon as Najib needs to find the weak Gerakan leader a home to pre-empt further ‘backdoor' insults.

Instead of coming right out to say it, she has to weave a rather convoluted and illogical speech. The fact that she is blaming the electorate for Gerakan's troubles reflects her tiny, naive and arrogant mindset.

Anonymous_3da0: Usually this means Najib and gang has agreed with Tan and her supporters that Koh has to go. Or else they wouldn't dare - Umno runs Gerakan on remote.

Anonymous: Ungrateful? Ungrateful is when the people gave them their votes and they used this to plunder the land dry and let those who voted them pay for eternity the debt that the country owes. Now, that's ungrateful! This is what is called arrogance of the conceited ones.

Papet: Gerakan should leave BN. Only then can we trust and support you. It's not Koh Tsu Koon who is the problem, it's Umno.

Leongan: Leaders are elected by the rakyat to serve the rakyat without the hope of getting any return from the rakyat.

If they are not interested to serve according to this simple rule, let other people take over. Leaders must be grateful for given the opportunity to serve the rakyat. Why should the rakyat be grateful to these leaders?

Keturunan Malaysia: Tan Lian Hoe, the only surprise is not what you said, but why didn't you say it earlier.

Gerakan Youth: Use viral videos for self-promotion

Ferdtan: Gerakan is finally facing its death throes to stay relevant politically. To keep quiet and compliant to the whims of Umno, like its president Koh Tsu Koon, the public including his own party members threw brickbats at him.

They called him a weak leader hinting that he should step down as president. On the other hand, Gerakan Youth chief Lim Si Pin wants play the role of a tough guy, like his father, the former party chief.

By making strong statements, he inadvertently and indirectly admitted certain facts. He suggested that Namewee do viral videos to make the public know that Gerakan is not behind the electoral malpractices - this means that there are electoral malpractices which the government has consistently denied.

The negative perception of having to rally component party members to greet the PM each time he returns from abroad - this means that most of these rallies are organised and not spontaneous.

The best remark was that the vernacular schools had to 'beg and beg' for new schools. Umno again.

Ipoh2: Koh should make his intentions known now and not dilly-dally anymore. Otherwise, after putting up such a brave front and having to back track will be extremely embarrassing.

He will lose whatever respect he has left. Stepping down now will be his best option.

Changeagent: Gerakan Youth chief Lim Si Pin, please hurry and make your viral videos. The Malaysian public can't wait to know how BN are not behind the electoral malpractices such as postal votes rigging, phantom voters, massive vote-buying, and the granting citizenships to illegal immigrants on the condition that they vote for BN.

Namewee or Pete Teo are inspired choices to direct the videos. I'm sure they can add some spin here or there.

KLeo: Go ahead and make all the videos you want. We, the Malaysian youth, will be there to click 'dislike' on all of them.
