Citizenship for foreigners: Home minister buys time
FREE VOXPOP 'Hishammuddin, if you are saying the opposition is making up stories, then you better explain the allegations.'
Hishammuddin: MyKad scam claim a distraction
Onyourtoes:
Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, the police, Immigration and NRD (National Registration Department) are all under your charge.
Now that there is a specific allegation made, why involve the PSC (parliamentary select committee) in this matter? Just tell us what the busloads of foreigners were doing there in Bangi ?
Can you confirm or deny what the police were saying? If what the police said was true, my question to you is why were the foreigners sent to attend an entrepreneurial course?
Is Malaysia short of entrepreneurs now, in addition to maids and construction workers? If what the police said was not true, then you have to tell us why the police were lying - for what and for whom?
Malaysian53: Foreigners being given a business course at a resort. Buses being used to transport them all the way from Johor to Bangi with police escort. Hisham didn't know because his officers did not tell him what they were doing.
Can anyone believe this crap from the home minister? He said the new parliamentary select committee is the right forum for him to answer such matters. So, Hisham before the PSC was formed, who was responsible for investigating such crimes? Is it not the police?
Free Thinker: Hishammuddin, if you are saying the opposition is making up stories, then you better explain the allegations. You are not answering questions, but instead diverting the entire issue.
Kgen: How can Hishammuddin dismiss the matter without an investigation? Are those buses ferrying foreigners an illusion? What about the police escorting them?
Any reasonable person would have called for an investigation but Hisham's outright denial suggests that he has something to hide.
Now who is betraying the Malays with these instant bumiputeras just to stay in power?
Shanu: Comment intelligently, Hishammuddin. You owe us, Malaysians, intelligent and credible answers, not some wishy-washy nonsense.
We are no longer uneducated common folks who cannot understand the way of things are done in Malaysia. You are a servant of the people, selected by those in your constituency to serve... so please serve your masters with the truth.
Derock: Hishammuddin, this is for sure a political issue. Umno is issuing citizenship to masses of foreigners so that they can vote for BN to stay in power. Is this not politics?
IloveBN: This is a total abuse of the rakyat's money. Who use our money to train these foreigners? There is aleady the MLVK programme (Majilis Latihan Vokasional Kebangsaan) for these people, why spend more and burden the rakyat?
There are thousand of Malaysians, be they Malay, Chinese, Indians or others, dying for opportunities to attend such training and here we have such a generous government training foreigners instead of its own citizens.
Is this what PM Najib Razak calls ‘rakyat didahulukan'?
Launched: 25,000 copies of 'Extravagant Rosmah'
Onyourtoes: A credible government must answer the questions asked in this booklet, failing which the rakyat have every right to make all kinds of insinuations.
Malaysians used to laugh at the banana republics in Latin American and Africa. I think we should start laughing at ourselves, the ‘world's best democracy'.
Tok Karut: Malaysiakini or Chegubard (Badrul Hisham Shaharin) did not say whether the PM's wife, Rosmah Mansor, misused government funds.
Unless you are alleging that the Customs was negligent or being paid off. Is this issue one of corruption in Customs and Rosmah is somehow implicated (whether she is using her own money or the government's money is irrelevant here)?
But if she bought the ring with her own money, what's the problem?
Changeagent: The insinuation here is that she is misusing public funds to finance her lavish lifestyle. If her husband earns RM500,000 a year, it would take him 48 years to afford the RM24 million ring. Think about it.
P Dev Anand Pillai: Tok Karut, if Rosmah had bought the ring with her own money, then she must be the first to jump up to say so. Why is she not responding ?
Further, when poor Malays can't even afford to have a decent roof over their heads and with her husband going around the country to tell the people to tighten their belts, she spends so much for a ring?
Well, perception is everything. So it is not so much of whether the money is hers or from other sources. The people are being fleeced, and it is our right to know.
Justice Bao: 25,000 copies is just not sufficient. We need to print more to distribute especially to all the rural areas in Malaysia.
If funds are needed, highlight it in Malaysiakini and every right-minded rakyat will contribute to the Pakatan Rakyat HQ so that one million copies can be printed.
Also highlight where all the monies had gone and the Scorpene submarine commissions too. We must boot the entire BN out come GE13 and then put all the proper checks back in place.
