A secretary for a company in Sungai Lalang, Sungai Petani, has been missing for the past 17 days after she went to withdraw money from a bank following her employer’s orders.

Nor Fazilah Rohani, 24, was believed to have disappeared on Oct 11 after she was entrusted by her employer to withdraw RM3,000 to pay electricity bills.

Her 56-year-old father, Rohani Abdullah, said he was informed of the incident in the evening on the day of the incident after his daughter failed to return to the office.

“Fazilah had only been with the company for three months. On that day she was allowed to use the company car to go and withdraw money for the bills and return with the balance but she did not come back,” he told reporters at his home in Sungai Petani today.

He said after receiving the information family and friends went to search for the woman but could only find the company car, a Perodua Kelisa, at a supermarket near the bank at 3am the following day.

Rohani said he had lodged a report on the disappearance as well as conducted a personal search in Sungai Petani, Bedong, Penang and even Bukit Kayu Hitam.

He said based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings, his daughter had left the bank at 3.35pm and settled the bills at 4.06pm.

“She was also said to have contacted one of her brothers at 3.55pm to inform of a problem about her own car which was being repaired in Ipoh following an accident in September,” he added.
