Sabah Umno deputy liaison chief Salleh Said Keruak has called on the youth to give Prime Minister Najib Razak a clear mandate to govern the country in the next general election.

In making the call, he said, unlike the opposition, Najib had laid down a clear-cut policy for the young people in the country.

"The policy of Najib is clear cut for them... for their future. Look at the budget (for next year), there are a lot of opportunities for the young, including job opportunities and housing facilities.

"The opposition, especially Pakatan, is an opportunist and only good at creating issues just to attract voters," he told Bernama after launching a programme to encourage youths to join Umno and register as voters at Suang Punggur in Kota Belud today.

Salleh, who is also state legislative assembly speaker, said youths, who were likely to play a significant role in the coming general election, should not just be trendy with an anti-establishment stand as it would not benefit them.

He said the prime minister had set a clear direction for the country and the people.
