A warrant of arrest against comedian and lyricist Mohd Hakim Lokman, who is popularly known as Bob Lokman, was issued last Friday, according to Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) director Marzuki Hussin.
"We will arrest Bob Lokman if we find him in Selangor and we are confident we will arrest him in the soon," today's issue of
Sinar
Harian
quotes Marzuki as saying.
The arrest warrant comes after Bob repeatedly failed to heed an order to present himself before Jais, which subsequently threatened to obtain an arrest warrant.
He was supposed to give his statement to Jais for giving a religious speech at a surau in Hulu Langat without accreditation from the state religious body.
PAS Youth election director Mohd Sany Hamzan, who was with Bob that night, has denied that Bob gave a religious speech or had touched on political issues.
Sinar Harian also quoted Bob as saying that Jais had not contacted him to assist in its investigation.
"How am I to give my statement when I have not been contacted by Jais? Even my contact number was not taken by them (Jais)," he is quoted as saying.
According to the paper, Bob was in Kemaman, Terengganu, when contacted and was expected to return to his home in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, today.
