Although Penang is ruled by Pakatan Rakyat, Nor Mohamed Yakcop has urged its residents to "open their eyes" to the BN government's efforts in bringing development to the state through various investments.

The minister in the Prime Minister's Department said it was important to avoid confusion among the people as some parties only wanted the publicity when in reality, the hard work was done by others.

"This matter should be stressed to ensure the people knew who worked hard to develop the state. We do not want some parties to get the credit based on the efforts of others," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after chairing the Penang Development Action Council meeting in Georgetown today, which among others, discussed preparations to face the flood season and how to effectively generate the economy.

Nor Mohamed said the central government would continue to bring in investments to Penang because BN government was concerned over the welfare of the people.
