The copter flew low over the shops at about 1pm and landed at the Kuantan Municipal Council field in front of the Bukit Ubi Fire & Rescue Station, said Ta Kuan Yew, 40, the owner of a motorcycle spare parts shops which was one of the outlets affected.
“Five motorcycles of my customers parked in front of the shop toppled due to the force of the air,” he said, adding that he thought the chopper was about to crash.
Meanwhile, Pahang Fire & Rescue Department public relations officer Anuar Hassan, when contacted by Bernama, said the traders had called on Pahang Fire & Rescue director Abdul Wahab Mat Yassin and the department had agreed to compensate them for the damage caused.
