Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries Minister Noh Omar said the loan to National Feedlot Corporation Sdn Bhd (NFC) was not discussed at cabinet meetings.

He said the application was presented to the High Impact Projects Committee which studied and later approved the RM250mil loan loan to NFC.

NONE “Rafizi did not understand. How to expose cabinet papers when it was not presented to the cabinet,” he told reporters after launching Selangor Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen Day at Stesen Mardi in Jalan Kebun in Klang today.

Noh was commenting a statement by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) strategy director Rafizi Ramli demanding that the government disclose cabinet papers on the awarding of the RM250 million loan.

The NFC executive chairperson is Mohammad Salleh Ismail, the husband of Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Jalil.

Rafizi said the matter should be clarified to see the extend of Shahrizat’s involvement in the awarding process of the loan to NFC.

The Auditor-General’s Report recently found that NFC failed to meet the  objective of its establishment amidst allegation of abuse in the purchase of a condominium in Bangsar.

Mohamad Salleh told a press conference two days ago that the cattle project managed to meet the initial target and denied opposition allegations that it was unmanageable.

NFC’s purchase of the condominium in Bangsar using borrowed money from the cattle project was a wise move to strengthen its financial standing, he said.
