In Malaysia, the Health Ministry is responsible for food safety. Is Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai doing his job? Or is he playing his cards carefully because this Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) is the brainchild of Prime Minister Najib Razak?

If Liow delays action on this, he will be criminally negligent on account of thousands of people who could be poisoned by the 1Malaysia chilli sauce.

James Dean: If the Health Ministry does not move in to verify the claims by Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua, then the director-general of Food Safety and Quality Division will be guilty of neglecting his duty to the public.

In the first place, whenever the quality of any food product sold by KR1M, or for that matter any outlet, is questioned, it is the duty of the Food Safety and Quality Division to investigate and inform the public about the truth.

KR1M and their supplier have no business holding press conferences refuting those claims. As said before, there is an element of conflict of interest in this matter.

Cookie Monster: I think Mydin is a pretty good retailer, but they are spoiling their name by associating themselves with KR1M. Anyway, if they are honest, they will tell who is really behind the shenanigan. Must surely be a BN crony.

Fab: Mydin must come clean and disclose how much his group of companies benefitted financially, directly or indirectly, from these KR1M set-ups.

Anonymous_3e4b: The Health Ministry can't do anything because it is controlled by Umno. Remember what minister Liow Tiong Lai first said about the Bersih 2.0 incident at Tung Shin Hospital (denying that the hospital was hit by water cannon spray and tear gas)?

Blind Freddo: In the real world, we have a government agency where its sole role is to protect the citizens of the country from unscrupulous manufacturers and retailers.

But in Malaysia, money, greed and corruption rule, and you can buy anything and anybody.

Gen2: This is the time for Health Ministry to be pro-active and do their own tests and announce it to the public. Its silence will only create more suspicion and conspiracy theories.

Tell me which wife - more so someone like demure Wan Azizah who stood by her husband through all the mudslinging sex trials - would come to another man to complain of being 'double-crossed' by her husband?

Talk about lies that can't be believed - this is it.

Kangaroo: It is a foregone conclusion that nobody believes a frog even how convincing they try to be. Zulkifli should contest as independent in Kulim-Bandar Bahru, and see how many will vote for him. Zulkifli, your days are numbered.

You won on a PKR ticket and then backstabbed Anwar, PKR and the voters who voted for you. In short, you are a cheat. Now who should the rakyat believe?

Tkc: Someone once told me his hypothesis that we should be wary of people who wear their religion openly on their sleeves.

You can easily spot them by their outward appearance and the religious ornaments that they wear. And if they are loud, they are usually the most hypocritical and have no hesitation in lying through their teeth to achieve their goals.

Fair Play: What do we expect Zulkifli to say? Agree with Syed Husin? Besides, does it really matter? GE13 is around the corner. Most likely, we will all forget about him after GE13.

Nowadays people are not that easily fooled, especially by those who have no principles.
