Letcimi Arumugam, the mother of MIC president G Palanivel, died last night. She was 92.

Palanivel’s press secretary M Karmegan said today Letcimi passed away at 10.50pm at Palanivel’s house in Taman Melawati in Kuala Lumpur.

Letcimi leaves behind three children, two sons and a daughter, and several grandchildren. Palanivel, who is Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, is the youngest child.

Karmegan said Letcimi’s remains were taken to the family house at No 20, Jalan Sungkai, off Jalan Kampar, George Town, Penang, at about  am today.

The funeral is scheduled for 2 pm tomorrow at the Batu Lanchang crematorium.
