The number of flood victims in Kelantan has risen to 1,892, from 1,420 yesterday as a result of continuous although moderate rain that submerged lowland areas.

A state flood operations room spokesperson said Pasir Mas continued to remain the worst affected district with 16 evacuation centres opened.
“The number of evacuation centres in the state has increased from 28 yesterday to 32 this morning,” he said.
According to him, the water level in Sungai Golok, Rantau Panjang is at a danger level while certain roads in Machang, Pasir Mas, Tanah Merah and Tumpat have been closed to traffic.
The affected roads are Jalan Machang-Pangkal Meleret-Wakaf Bata in Machang, Jalan Pohon Tanjung-Meranti, Jalan Pohon Tanjung-Rantau Panjang (old road)-Kampung Siram and Jalan Rantau Panjang-Panglima Bayu in Pasir Mas, and Jalan Tanah Merah-Kusial-Kampung Ipoh in Tanah Merah.
In Tumpat, three routes have been closed, namely Km3 Jalan Cabang 4/Kampung Jambu/Meranti, Km2 Jalan Keselamatan (Kesban)-Pengkalan Kubor-Kampung Jambu and Km3, Jalan Pohon Tanjung-Pasir Pekan.
In TERENGGANU, the number of flood victims at the relief centres was down to 1,236 from 2,404 yesterday evening.
A state national security council spokesperson said six districts were still inundated, namely Besut, Hulu Terengganu, Kemaman, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Setiu.
In PAHANG, the 11 flood victims from two families in Kampung Chendor Baru, near Cherating, were still housed at Kampung Chendor community hall as their area was still under 0.5 metres of water, according to a police operations room spokesperson.
