A computer crimes analyst informed the High Court in Shah Alam today that 11 mobilephones which formed a part of the case exhibits in the murder trial of cosmetics millionaire Sosilawati Lawiya and three other individuals, were sent to him for analysis.  

ASP Mohd Zulkifly Mohd Isa, 31, from the Bukit Aman police headquarters said he also received a request to analyse a SIM card, memory card, mobilephone battery and thumbdrive from investigating officer ASP Ishak Yaacob and a police officer named Inspector Suzana.

The 76th prosecution witness said he received the items on Sept 17 and 20 last year.

“Two Blackberry phones (black and white) were given to me in a damp condition with moisture on their screens. After registering them, I used a blower to dry the phones and then locked them up in the mobilephone lab,” he said during examination-in-chief by DPP Ishak Mohd Yusoff.  

 

Mohd Zulkifly was testifying on the 53rd day of the trial of former lawyer N Pathmanabhan and three farm workers T Thilaiyalagan, R Matan and R Khatavarayan who are charged with the murders of Sosilawati, 47, bank officer Noorhisham Mohamad, 38, lawyer Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim, 32 and Sosilawati’s driver Kamaruddin Shamsuddin, 44.       

Pathmanabhan, 42; Thilaiyalagan, 20; Matan, 21; and Kathavarayan, 31 who allegedly committed the offences at Lot 2001, Jalan Tanjong Layang, Tanjung Sepat in Banting between 8.30 pm and 9.45 pm on Aug 30 last year, face the mandatory death sentence upon conviction under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The witness said he returned the case exhibits to Inspector Suzana on Sept 23 and Oct 1 last year.  

The trial resumes tomorrow before Judge Akhtar Tahir.
