Malaysians will witness a total lunar eclipse for about six hours tomorrow.

A National Space Agency (Angkasa) research officer, Redzuan Tahar said the full eclipse of the moon would begin at 7.34pm for the penumbra phase and would be visible from 8.46pm before ending at 1.30am on Sunday.

He said the full phase of the umbra would begin at 10.06pm and would end in about 51 minutes while the moon would be in shadow of the Earth at 10.35pm.

“Observers in Malaysia will be able to observe the whole eclipse and will be able to see the moon and its dark spots phase at 10.32pm if there is no climate change," he said when contacted by Bernama in Kuala Lumpur today.

Redzuan said the National Planetarium would like to invite the public to join and witness the total lunar eclipse besides keeping the update on the phenomenon through the Lunar Malaysia Eclipse Facebook durings its occurrence.
