Ashoka PJ: The Kuala Lumpur City Park Bhd, KLCC Urusharta Sdn Bhd and Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd all belong to Malaysia's oil company and you know who sits as advisor to this oil company on Level 88. Dr Mahathir Mohamad. He must have given the instructions.

Shame on the oil company. You are taking the wealth of the rakyat from the soil and the sea and is this how you treat your rakyat in return.

Remember, you are being paid from our land and sea and you built KLCC from the proceeds of the land and the sea which belongs to the rakyat.

Quigonbond: What a PR (public relation) disaster for KLCC and the law firm. Using a legal letter to threaten an injunction is surely an overkill, and unlikely to stop people from doing something creative.

I'd love to see an injunction preventing people from wearing any kind of yellow, gathering more than three persons in a group within the shopping complex.

Let's see how the police are going to pull off crowd control unless they're expecting FRU trucks to fire tear gas canisters next to the giant Christmas tree!

Nik V: Here's something really funny the group can do. The law firm is using the newly-minted bill to act against activist Wong Chin Huat and all "legally". So, all the organisers need to do now is officially "cancel" the event.

Now, organise a new "get together or outing of friends and shoppers" with a letter that is worded carefully and legally within the framing of the law that KLCC lawyers can't do anything short of closing down the entire mall. It's all in the jargon.

But the real sad reality is that KLCC is being run by Umno-BN and its cronies. That's the price we pay when we allow BN to continue spending our taxes to build whatever and then act like they own it.

Hann Wei Toh: To be fair, whichever country you go, you can be ordered to return or be locked up. Do the police and the host country do that without a good reason? Very rarely.

AnakBangsaMalaysia: T Sundaram, either you are a paid cybertrooper or you are horribly ignorant of what is transpiring in this country. Go do your homework and read the text of the so-called 'Peaceful Assembly Bill' before commenting.

Essentially the police and Home Ministry have been given arbitrary powers over public gatherings - in clear violation of Article 10 of the federal constitution which guarantees our right to peacefully assemble.

To put it in terms you can understand, if your neighborhood police officer doesn't like your face, he can declare that your birthday party with friends and family is an 'illegal gathering' and order the FRU in to shell your house with tear gas and arrest you lot, then fine each of you up to RM20,000 each for 'participating in an illegal gathering'.

Are your civil rights worth giving up for a few hundred ringgit?

Bender: Apparently the KLCC management would rather have Indons, Banglas, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Nigerians and Arabs (just to name a few, but I think we all get the drill) to gather in and around their premises than Malaysians.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not a racist or have anything against these foreign nationals per se but my observations tell me that these people can gather in such locations as KLCC, Puduraya or Bukit Bintang a lot easier and without much fuss compared to Malaysians.

Just go there on regular weekends or during major public holidays and count the nationalities that you see, I bet my little finger you'll feel like you're somewhere in Jakarta or Dhaka.

I'll be there on Saturday, although I must say that I'm more scared of the KLCC playground/park guards (fascists with whistles) than I am of the cops or mall security guards.

AnakBangsaMalaysia: KLCC's management has just made itself into a huge laughing stock - perhaps even surpassing Komtar Traders Association vice-president Mohamed Ghani Abdul Jiman's faecal shenanigans in Penang.

Harassing a peaceful gathering of civilians - some of our finest citizens, no less - by spraying them with water sprinklers and now turning loose their Umno-linked lawyers Zulrafique & Partners to intimidate the organisers?

Such bullying behaviour bears the distinct stench of Umno-BN, and is sure to invite a backlash from society. People are already flooding the KLCC Facebook page with angry comments.

Trublumalaysian: Maybe, there's an old man up on the top-most floor who sees everything and likes not what he sees.
