The application forms for the RM500 people's assistance programme are available for free from today.      

They can be obtained from all Inland Revenue Board branch offices and service centres as well as from the Information Department, Federal Development Office, Finance Ministry and selected schools from 9am to 5pm, the Finance Ministry said.      

Further information can be obtained from www.treasury.gov.my or at 1-800-222-500.      

A man or a woman, who is the head of a family whose household monthly income is RM3,000 and below, can apply for the RM500 one-off cash aid from the government to be paid next month, said an earlier Bernama report.

This covers married individuals; single mothers and single fathers with dependents; bachelors and spinsters with dependents; senior citizens (aged 60 and above) living alone.
