In an apparent attempt to repair its image badly dented by its insistence on hudud law, PAS is to launch a book detailing its version of a welfare state.

NONE The work entitled 'Welfare State', authored by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, ( left) will be launched at the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) complex in Shah Alam at 3pm tomorrow.

Among PAS top leaders expected to be present are vice president Salahudin Ayub, information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, committee member Khalid Samad and Selangor PAS commissioner Dr Abdul Rani Osman.

The 59-page book outlines the concept, policies and agenda of the party along with its Pakatan Rakyat allies should they gain federal power.

It details a 10 point PAS agenda on fair, clean and trustworthy government, caring, peaceful and united society and a sustainable, balanced, and fair economy.

Abdul Hadi will also touch on quality education, efficient health services, comprehensive welfare services and the promotion of harmonious, happy families with morals.

It also looks into youths and productivity, infrastructure and environmental conservation.

The book is a continuation of an earlier one by the PAS president, entitled 'The fundamental concept of a welfare state'.

The two are seen as follow-ups to Abdul Hadi's policy speech themed 'Developing a welfare state' delivered at the party's 57th Muktamar in June last year.
