Mastery Academy of Chinese Metaphysics founder Joey Yap opined that a change of government "is very unlikely" to happen in Malaysia in 2012, a year known as 'water dragon year' in the Chinese calendar.

Expressing his views to local radio station BFM yesterday morning, Yap said his conclusion is drawn from the fact that the charts of the current leaders are pretty strong.

feng shui in hong kong "The luck of (BN) is pretty strong, and based on the chart, they would still be around," he said, adding that general election would probably be held in the first half of the year.

However, Yap stressed that he has yet to see all the charts of the opposition leaders.

The well-known feng shui practitioner, who has been engaged by companies like Great Eastern, HSBC Bank and Samsung, also reckoned a positive change was in the offing in the Malaysian political arena.

"The thing about the water dragon is first you demolish, then you grow. The water is very strong, it flushes everything out. So I expect there will be a change in terms of style, and the way things are done," he said.

Water and wood industries

Regarding the economy, Yap said the market should improve after February as the financial charts shows no clashing elements.

He noted that United States will recover from its recession, but not Europe.

"There is a star of growth actually reaching the US. It kicks in around July. So we should see an improvement after that.

"However, in Europe, we see an element of deterioration. Little or no improvement is expected," he said.

He named water-related industries, such as shipping, the courier business, and hotels, as well as wood-related industries, like healthcare, education and agriculture, to be the key beneficiaries of next year's chart.

The author of more than 60 books on Feng Shui also pointed out that southeast area would be a negative sector next year.

"In term of home, the favouable sector would be west or northwest sector," he said.
