Four named to Kedah Council of Regency
The Sultan of Kedah, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, today appointed a Council of Regency to ensure that the administration of the state runs smoothly after his departure to the Istana Negara tomorrow.

Members of the council comprised the sultan’s brothers, Tunku Annuar Sultan Badlishah, Tunku Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, and Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani Sultan Badlishah, as well as the sultan’s daughter, Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Sultan Abdul Halim.
Tunku Annuar was appointed as the chairperson of the Council of Regency.
The proclamation ceremony for the Council of Regency was held at Istana Anak Bukit in Alor Setar today.
The swearing-in of all the members of the council was held before Sultan Abdul Halim and Sultanah Haminah Hamidun.
Sultan Abdul Halim will depart for Istana Negara tomorrow after being appointed as the 14th Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, succeeding Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
