The outcome of talks between Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd and two stage bus operators on strategic collaboration in the Klang Valley will be known in three months.
“The detailed mechanism is being discussed between Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Sdn Bhd (RapidKL) and the two operators,” Prasarana group managing director Shahril Mokhtar said today.
Prasarana owns RapidKL which operates the largest stage bus (regular or trunk bus route) and feeder bus service in Kuala Lumpur, among others.
The two stage bus companies involved in the talks are Setara Jaya Sdn Bhd which runs SJ Bus and Syarikat Len Seng Sdn Bhd which operates Bas Len Seng.
According to reports, the talks involve sharing infrastructure and manpower as well as providing a standard fare structure to increase punctuality, trip frequency and reliability.
Speaking to reporters in Kuala Lumpur, Shahril said Prasarana would commence talks with other bus operators if this one showed positive results.
The company also saw no problem in working together with Konsortium Transnasional Bhd even though they do not operate the same routes, he added.
