Former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan has lodged a police report against bloggers who had claimed that he married a singer in a lavish wedding.
According to The Star today, the report was lodged at the Petaling Jaya district headquarters last Friday, to facilitate future legal action.
“I leave it to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to investigate the matter.
“Once the police and the MCMC have completed their investigations, I will decide on whether to commence legal proceedings,” Musa is quoted as saying.
Bloggers had posted a wedding photograph, claiming it to be Musa and singer Syella Kamaruddin, in a ceremony they alleged had cost up to RM15 million.
Musa (right) has denied the wedding allegation and also denied ever knowing the singer.
“That is not me. I am not involved in the wedding and for public knowledge, I only have one wife, Juriah Ahmad,” he had said.
URTV magazine had quoted Syella as confirming that her wedding took place in Kuala Lumpur from Nov 11 to 13.
However, she declined to reveal her husband's identity, but denied that the person alleged to be in the blog photograph was her husband.
