The Transport Ministry has no plans to make announcements in Tamil at the KL International Airport in Sepang, the Dewan Negara was told today.

Its deputy minister Abdul Rahim Bakri said the reason was that passengers from India spoke various dialects.

Abdul Rahim said most passengers from India were also conversant in English.

For the moment, he said, announcements at KLIA were conducted in three languages, Malay, English and Mandarin.

"Announcements in Arabic and Japan are conducted during certain seasons only," he added.
