The family of student activist Adam Adli Abdul Halim should lodge a police report if they received threats over his action in bringing down a flag bearing an image of Najib Razak at the Putra World Trade Centre recently.

NONE Deputy Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said investigations would be carried out if such threats were ever made against the family and Adam Adli ( left ).

Speaking to reporters after staging a walkabout in Johor Bahru today, Khalid said the police were observing Adam Adli and advised him to be careful of his actions.

Adam Adli's family allegedly received threats that the 21-year-old student of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris would be harmed if he was seen in public.

"Whatever he (Adam Adli) wants to do, he has to think about the consequences for himself as a student besides public order. I do not want to comment on what action we are going to take. He shouldn't do something that he will regret later," said Khalid.

Good feedbacks

On the walkabout, Khalid said he received good feedbacks from the community on the deployment of policemen in the city centre from a survey carried out in Larkin Sentral, Larkin Farmers' Market, Jalan Segget and Jalan Wong Ah Fook, today.

The public and foreign tourists' confidence on their safety has soared with increased police presence in street crime hot spots, he said, adding that the police beefed up Iskandar Malaysia's security to enhance investors' confidence.
