Intermittent rain sometimes heavy is expected to occur in parts of Sabah and Sarawak until Thursday and can cause flooding in low-lying areas.

The Meteorological Department said the affected areas in Sabah are Kudat, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Sandakan, Kota Belud and Ranau while in Sarawak, the same is  expected in Kuching, Bau, Lundu, Samarahan and Serian.

Intermittent rain sometimes moderate is expected to occur in some areas in Kota Tinggi and Mersing in Johor and Rompin and Kuantan in Pahang until Friday.

The Meteorological Department also said rising sea levels are expected to  occur on the east coast of the peninsula until Thursday.

Strong north-east winds at 60kph have been forecast for some areas on the east coast of the peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak, while the sea is expected to be rough as high as 5.5m.

The sea off Langkawi, Perlis and northern Kedah is expected to be at 3.5m and dangerous to all coastal and marine activities.
