Selangor exco member Hasan Ali, who was sacked from PAS on Sunday, did not attend the exco meeting today, said an official from the menteri besar's office.

At a post-exco meeting press conference this afternoon, state local government committe chief Ronnie Liu said Hasan was currently “on leave”, and said the latter has not been dropped from the exco line-up.

Pressed further, Liu said the Hasan’s sacking from PAS was “not yet” discussed by the exco but declined to provide further details, including the duration of Hasan’s leave.

“Wait for the menteri besar’s explanation,” said Liu in a series of curt replies.

He was among four exco members who addressed reporters at the event. Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim was at another function.

The three other exco members present were Iskandar Samad, Halimah Ali and Yaacob Sapari, who were equally tight-lipped about Hasan.

Iskandar, who is also Selangor PAS deputy commissioner, said the state PAS was still waiting for instructions from party president Abdul Hadi Awang on Hasan’s replacement.

“We will wait for the president. We cannot precede him (in a decision),” he said.

Attempts to contact Hasan for comments since last night have not been successful. He is expected to hold a press conference in "a few days".

The Selangor sultan is scheduled to have an audience with Khalid on Friday to discuss current affairs and Hasan’s replacement.
