The Malacca branch of the Kesejahteraan Insan Tanah Air (Kita) has dissolved after its 60 members quit the party and joined Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), its hitherto chairperson Col (Rtd) Hashim Puteh said today.
He said the members of the branch, established on June 12 last year, had lost confidence in party leader Zaid Ibrahim who, he said, appeared to be inconsistent in his struggle.
“The grassroots are confused over his struggle. Sometimes, he sides with Umno and the Barisan Nasional (BN) and at other times with the Pakatan Rakyat. We feel he is actually politicking for himself,” Hashim told a news conference in Malacca.
He said the party’s central leadership did not have an action plan nor programme to resolve the people's problems which form the basis of the party’s struggle.
Hashim handed the application forms of the former Kita members to Malacca PKR chairperson Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin. All of them have joined the Tangga Batu PKR division.
