Cowgate: The silence of the lambs

VOXPOP 'The Malays should stop complaining about their special rights or ‘ketuanan' when these privileges are only meant for the Umno leaders.'

Gov't urged to freeze NFC assets before EGM

vox populi small thumbnail YF: Malaysia is the only country where crooks can steal from the rakyat and get off scot-free while the authorities (be it the courts, law enforcement and the religious parties) do nothing. All these claims of being a democratic and Islamic country is mere nonsense.

Why are there zero Malay NGOs protesting on this crooked scam here? Is it because it's Umno-related that no Malay dare to protest?

Now you know why Malays continue to be poor in this country. It's because Umno leaders are squandering all the rakyat's money meant to help the poor.

So the Malays should stop complaining about their special rights or ‘ketuanan' when these privileges are only meant for the Umno leaders and not for the common Malay. Wise up please.

The non-Malays are not robbing the Malays of their equality; they're stopping the plundering of the rakyat's coffers by these Umno folks.

Ksn: No action has been taken to freeze the assets so far by MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), the Finance Ministry, Ministry of Agriculture, the police, the AG (attorney-general), etc.

Is it business as usual to do what the NFC bosses did and abuse the RM250 million of public funds? Nobody is accountable, responsible or even answerable? What is going on?

There is more than what has been exposed in this scandal considering the efforts to cover up the issue by the government and Umno.

Is the RM250 million going to be written off as a bad debt?

It looks like all the big guns of Umno are shivering in their pants and skirts after Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil questioned as to who in the party did not have similar problems. What a shame.

Kgen: What does it matter? The government is not interested in prosecuting anybody in NFC (National Feedlot Corporation).

Cala: PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli, do you expect them to wash their dirty linen in public?

I share your concern, fear and rage over the impending action of the Umno-led BN regime to give the NFC a makeover.

You are absolutely correct in insisting that a properly qualified special administrator be appointed to carry out the tasks of identifying what caused the mismanagement, and the many scandals.

That said, I think the regime is least interested to get to the bottom of the ills. Why should they? To do so is to wash their own dirty linen in public.

2Cts Worth: If the PM has to be told to do the obvious, as in this NFC case and a host of others, where are we heading as a nation?

Disgusted: A government bailout in the offing - write off the RM250 million and pump in more of the rakyat's money to salvage the project?

Perhaps Khazanah will step in and bring NFC back to health by injecting Petronas/EPF money and then farm out to the next crony Umnoputra to make more money.

The vicious cycle will go on unabated as long as BN is in power. Kick them out at the 13th GE and salvage the nation for the rakyat.

Former US envoy predicts GE13 to be 'dirtiest ever'

Docs: Don't be surprised when casting your votes come GE13, that a number of Bangladeshis and Indonesians will be in the same line to cast their votes too.

YF: Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's acquittal is just an act on Umno's part. Soon the appeal will come in and Anwar will probably be convicted. Malaysian courts are fair, right? They are no reforms, just a reforming of Mahathirism.

Ghkok: Najib got a political boost from Anwar's acquittal? I disagree.

Frankly, I don't detect any political boost on the ground. All the neutrals have either shrugged off the trial as a show trial of grand ‘fitnah' by the government or have tuned off completely whereas the opposition supporters are the ones getting a boost from the feeling that Anwar has managed to defeat Umno.

Taib summoned to testify in former daughter-in-law case

Cloudnine: RM400 million for 19 years of marriage works out to be about RM20 million per year. A pretty good return.

At RM400 million, Shahnaz A Majid is worth more than many listed companies. This is pure hard cash, unlike many individuals or companies with ‘banyak hutang' (debts).

But that's chicken feed, given their vast amounts of stolen wealth. Their huge ill-gotten largesse is the main reason why Sarawak CM Taib Mahmud cannot step down.

1Melayu 1Bahasa 1Malaysia: The disclosing of these assets confirms at least some of the Taib companies as revealed by the Bruno Manser Fund and Sarawak Report .

MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission), what are you waiting for? This is the confirmation that you need.

Sarawakian_3ff9: This means that Taib has to disclose in detail his son's extensive assets and perhaps some of his own as well in court.

Or he could say to his former daughter-in-law: "Here's RM100 million. Take it and let's call it even."
