It's not just Shahrizat, what about DPM and PM?

YOURSAY 'It is obvious that she has no intention to resign as a minister and the PM has no backbone to terminate her.'

Shahrizat applies for leave pending NFC probe

your say Nik V: What must irk and befuddle Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil is how could such a paltry sum of RM250 million be given such a spotlight when to her knowledge, her other Umno colleagues have gotten away with much, much more.

She is probably most frustrated that she has become a target and that Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, DPM Muhyiddin Yassin and even PM Najib Razak have not come out more to defend her and perhaps have left her to be the next fall guy for the sake of their own survival.

By the way, why has Khairy suddenly gone quiet on this issue?

No4beend: Shahrizat, we have no doubt whatsoever that you are not involved directly in approval of the project as you were not the agriculture minister.

We also have no doubt whatsoever that you were not the person who approve the soft loan as you were not the prime minister and the finance minister.

We have no doubt that you were not the person who disburse the loan as you were not the banker.

What we are saying is that your family got the ‘lembu' (cattle) project because you benefitted through your position as minister, and through your husband Mohamad Salleh Ismail and your children, which in the public mind is rather unethical.

People like you and your family are the one which is driving the country into bankruptcy. What a pity that you and Salleh taught your children how to ‘swindle' public money.

Ksn: Shahrizat's leave does not make any sense. Why must she take leave to make way for the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) investigation?

It is obvious that she has no intention to resign as a minister and the PM has no backbone to terminate her.

As she loudly sent out the message that everyone in Umno has similar problems, I wonder how many in the party - the majority I take it - must be having sleepless nights wondering what she might reveal if cornered.

Anak JB: Roll up your sleeves, thump your chest, shout at the top of your voice and whip up a ‘cow frenzy'.

In the name of serving the rakyat, in the name of Umno, in the name of Islam, in the name of the Malays, in the name of all wanita (women) and in the name of Malaysia, I hereby offer myself to serve you wholeheartedly. Sounds familiar?

These are the scrooge of society, hypocrites and liars who have no shame and have no understanding of righteousness and with no fear of God.

On the pretext of doing everything noble, there live a bunch of self-serving hypocritical politicians lining up their pockets and also their families'.

These are the very people we have voted in to serve us, but screwed us instead. MACC, what are you waiting for?

Anonymous_410a: Shahrizat's leave could be another ‘wayang kulit' by Umno to make themselves look good.

I think they have changed their strategy with the recent acquittal of DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim) and now they are trying to portray that they are a good government that listens to the people.

While doing this, they activate traitors inside Pakatan Rakyat like Hasan Ali to create doubts in the minds of people about the viability of the opposition.

GE13 will have to wait for a while until they can make enough ‘wayang kulit' shows and enough problems inside Pakatan.

Although I think most readers of the alternative media such as Malaysiakini will not fall for this trick, I am afraid that those who read only mainstream media will be swayed.

Therefore, we must all be vigilant and be out there to continue to create the awareness in the minds of people of BN the trickster.

Azlan Ahmad: On account of the principle of conflict of interest, the minister (Shahrizat) should voluntarily resign. And it was DPM Muhyiddin Yassin who approved this project when he was the agriculture minister.

Anonymous: The question that should be asked is: would Salleh be in his present position in the NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) if he wasn't Shahrizat's husband.

Was he a rancher par excellence, was he the man who worked out the initial working paper and come out with the whole idea?

Kee Thuan Chye: Why does Shahrizat have to take leave? I hope she doesn't leave the cabinet. Please, don't let her resign or get sacked.

We need her to taint Umno and BN at the next general election. She must stay. What needs to be done is terminate the contract with her family's business (or whatever) and get the money back from them.

It's the people's money. They have abused it. Why should they continue to enjoy using it?
