Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was due to meet with Burma's leader Senior General Than Shwe today after arriving on a one-day official visit, officials said.

Abdullah was initially scheduled to visit Burma late last month, but the trip was postponed because he was unwell.

An official source said the Malaysian premier would meet his Burmese counterpart in the afternoon before departing on an evening flight.

The Burma visit is the last leg of Abdullah's introductory tour of the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a tradition for newly installed regional leaders.
