Federal Territories and Urban Well-being Minister Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin is suspecting PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim to be the cause for the poor relationship between Malaysia and Indonesia.

NONE Speaking at a function at Pantai Dalam in Kuala Lumpur today, Raja Nong Chik ( right ) said Anwar may have painted a distorted picture of Malaysia to the Indonesians.

"Yesterday Anwar brought an Indonesian reporter over to Pantai Dalam.

"Most importantly, his distorted truth might be the cause of the sour ties between Malaysia and Indonesia," the minister added.

Anwar, who is also opposition leader in Parliament, was in Pantai Dalam yesterday for the recording of a personality programme with Indonesian private television station TVOne.

'Anwar not well-received'

According to an Anwar aide, the recording in Pantai Dalam was to capture Anwar's interaction with the ordinary folk.

However, Raja Nong Chik described the arrival of Anwar there as "not well-received".

"How many people followed him? No one, right?" he said.

He also chided Anwar for belittling the government's "1Malaysia People Assistance" (BR1M) scheme.

"I am not lying. He was telling people that, take the BR1M money, but don't vote BN," he said.

Under the BR1M scheme, the head of a family with a monthly household income of RM3,000 and below can apply for the RM500 one-off cash aid from the government, which is being paid this month.

Those eligible are married individuals; single mothers and single fathers with dependants; bachelors and spinsters with dependents; and senior citizens (aged 60 and above) living alone.
