The fifth day of the 25th Ops Sikap has recorded 11 deaths, bringing total fatalities to 58, since its launch on Jan 16.

The police website reported motorists being the highest number at six deaths, followed by four motorcyclists and one lorry driver.
A total of 1,652 accidents have been reported, with the highest number 646 on municipal roads followed by federal roads at 384, state roads (282), highways (238) and 102 on other roads.
Police also issued 17,973 summons for various traffic offences yesterday, making it 86,991 so far, during the five days.
The 25th Ops Sikap ends on Jan 30 and was launched for the Chinese New Year and police have taken the approach of issuing immediate summons to traffic offenders to educate road users to be more careful, in efforts to reduce fatalities during the festive season.
