History has been hijacked by the politicians

Malay leftists not exactly independence fighters
Anonymous_3hdchd:
History, like philosophy, is not a fixed series of facts or truths but a process, an activity, an ongoing series of interpretations.
Malaysian history is fascinating because there's so much more to say and write. I'd like to thank Prof Khoo Kay Kim for igniting discussion around a subject that has become sterile and dulled by political expediency.
Having said that, I fear the professor has passed his sell-by date. I was on a platform with him recently and, sad to say, he appears to have lost the plot.
I'm not surprised that he keeps banging on that 'people don't know'. Of course, they don't know - history has been hijacked by the politicians.
James1067: Well, the Malay leftists were not independence fighters, but contributed in one way or another to our independence struggle.
It is surprising after so many years of history lessons, Khoo is finally saying that the history thought in our schools is not accurate.
Where were you be had you said many years ago that the executive was controlling Malaysian history?
It looks like you preferred working with them to enjoy the perks and benefits, otherwise you would have spoken about it earlier, way much earlier.
Swipenter: Prof, you talk so much about what is not the actual history of our country. Why don't you talk about what is the actual history of our country?
Talking about what is not is of no use to anybody so it sows confusion and distortion in the minds of Malaysians.
You confirmed that history taught in our schools are "full of inaccuracies", implying that the ‘executive' is the actual culprit for what is happening to our history and also for to the sad state of affairs concerning our academicians and educationists.
It is an open secret and we all know it that our actual history is distorted to suit and tailor to the politics of the executive (read: Umno and its ketuanan Melayu doctrine).
So in the final analysis, it is all about thought control and not education, and you are just a pawn in the grand scheme of things.
Anwar's sodomy acquittal a Pyrrhic victory
2CTS WORTH: I thought the acquittal was good and true. It turns out to be too good to be true. The master of illusion turns true to form.
DAP chairperson Karpal Singh's acquittal on sedition charges years back was also revoked on appeal.
Now they have two unscrupulous cases in which to carry on their merry ways, keeping the opposition stalwarts busy before the general election. The devil will never give up his horns.
Open Minded: It reminds me of the tug-o-war that used to be part of any school sports carnival sometime ago.
The object of this event is, release a little and then pull as hard as you can to try to gain victory. The softening of the stand by the judiciary is seen to show the impartiality of the courts, but people know very well there is a sinister objective for doing it.
Even in Pakistan, a country in the midst of civil and external conflicts, a PM can still be charged with contempt whilst here, only certain cases deemed a threat to the survival of a regime, is given the full attention of the law and pursued till they get the predetermined verdict.
Anything that our PM does or says lacks honesty, truth and sincerity. Pathetic.
Faz: Reading into any bits of news these days is fun because the resultant effects are generally not as what Umno-BN and the mainstream media want.
Education has given Malaysians the ability to think outside the box on any issue and the Internet has given the space to call the bluff of Umno-BN.
It used to be one-way traffic but now, no longer as more questions are being asked on all Umno-BN pronouncements.
Umno-BN is using their standard operating procedure, i.e money to pacify the crowds but the crowds take the money and disappear. The old and senile Umno-BN is still not a pushover yet but is back-pedaling towards it.
The time will come when a mere touch will end in its collapse. It may be sooner than we hope for. Go for ‘Anything But Umno' (ABU).
James1067: It's urprising that when we go to God with our sins, he forgives us.
Yet in this episode in the last two days, we see the father and son (Azlan Md Lazim and Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan) team not letting go. They went on raving and ranting for justice after admitting to agreed sex.
Well, we have come to this stage when at one time, we would do anything to keep such an episode from reaching the neighbours' ears. Nowadays we go on radio and TV to tell the world of our actions. Shameless.
Kgen: How much time, effort and money is going to be wasted on a case of consensual sodomy which has no public interest but only political interest to Umno?
It's an abuse of public institutions to further Umno's political aims. If the AG is so sanctimonious, why didn't he go after MCA chief Chua Soi Lek for fellatio, which is an offence under the same Act?
